The ARRL Sacramento Valley Section will be operating a Special Event Station for the 2026 California State Fair.
July 17 – Aug 2, 2026
The ARRL Sacramento Valley Section will sponsor an Amateur Radio Exhibit and Special Event Station at the California State Fair. Inside air-conditioned Cal Expo Building C, our volunteer exhibitors will promote California Amateur Radio activities, clubs, literature, services, and outreach to the general public. Please stop by our exhibit for a face-to-face chat and to see the station in action.
Our K6C Special Event Station at the Fair plans to operate voice, Morse code, and digital modes on the 40, 20, 15, and 10 meter bands and on 2 meter FM.
Radio Amateurs Throughout California Will Activate K6C
Designated radio amateurs throughout California will activate the K6C callsign during hours that the Fair is closed.
Volunteer for the Fair
We are looking for volunteers to man the booth at the State Fair. Complimentary admission and parking for the days you schedule yourself.
This is an excellent opportunity to showcase the fun you have with amateur radio and share your passion and knowledge with the fair attendees.
Bring visual aids if you like, or bring your transceiver and operate from the fair using our HF and VHF antennas. Make your time in the booth as fun and as exciting as you like.
Cannot make it to the fair? You can also participate by operating as our Special Event Station K6C when the fair is not open.
Sign up as a volunteer to get started.
