Founded in 1958, the Sierra Foothills Amateur Radio Club (SFARC) of Auburn, California was founded to support and promote the Amateur Radio Service. We are a voluntary, non-profit association of licensed amateur radio operators and others who share interests in developing and promoting the knowledge and advancement of operating techniques and the technical skills related to radio communications. We accomplish these goals through mentoring new hams and practical experience in the Amateur Radio Service, participating in public safety exercises, and through emergency preparedness and international goodwill.
SFARC is headquartered in Auburn California and welcomes hams from all of Placer County and beyond including Meadow Vista, Foresthill, Grass Valley, Georgetown, Nevada City, Roseville, Rocklin, Lincoln, Granite Bay, Loomis, Newcastle, Antelope, Carmichael, Colfax, Fair Oaks, Orangevale, Citrus Heights, Sacramento, Folsom, El Dorado Hills, Placerville, Rancho Cordova, and several communities in between.SFARC is a non-profit 501(c) organization serving Auburn, CA, and the Western Placer County communities. SFARC is recognized by the Amateur Radio Relay League (ARRL) as a special service club for our commitment to the local community and emergency preparedness. If you’d like more information about the Sierra Foothills Amateur Club, send us a message using the form below. |

The Golden Empire Amateur Radio Society (GEARS) was established on August 13, 1939 by eleven Amateur Radio operators from throughout the Northern Sacramento Valley.
GEARS members are interested in many aspects of amateur radio, HF, VHF, UHF and other modes. We endeavor represent all interests, and minimize the influence of any one special interest.
We are a non-profit organization whose purpose is to further the exchange of information and cooperation among members, to promote radio knowledge, and to advance the general interest of amateur radio service. We are committed to serving our communities, and welcome new opportunities to do so. We can provide communications for bike races, charity walks, and other local and regional public events.
In the event of a natural or man made disaster, and with the assistance of Butte County Amateur Radio Emergency Service (BCARES), GEARS members are prepared to provide emergency communications services to the community.
The Golden Empire Amateur Radio Society is dedicated to education, public service, recreational purposes of amateur radio, and to elevate the standards of operating practices and ethics in amateur radio communications. |

The Samuel F Morse Amateur Radio Club (SFMARC) was originally formed in Sacramento, CA by a group of radio amateurs that mainly enjoy Morse Code. We wanted a way to bring others together who share an interest in telegraphy, operating CW on-air, and the love of Field Day, Bug Roundup, and both the North American QSO Party and the California QSO Party.
We accept and welcome membership of ANY interested individuals regardless of their code ability, license status or geographic area. |

Monthly meetings are now available on Zoom. Please check our website for meeting links. Also, we have a Zoom ragchew starting around 6:00 PM on Thursday evenings before the 2 meter net. Again, info is on our website.
We are a general service club and participate in a number of public service events in the area. We also host the largest Hamfest in the area the third Saturday of September every year at McBean Park in Lincoln, CA. We offer license testing the first Wednesday of each month at 6:00 PM at the club meeting location noted above. Our club meetings are open and you do not need to be a member to attend. If you are new to ham radio we have many experienced members who are more than willing to help you learn about the hobby, what you need to do to earn a license, and just generally answer any questions you may have. |

Our Club is open to any licensed amateur radio operator or anyone interested in amateur radio, electronics or similar interests and is a resident of Sun City Lincoln Hills, CA. We welcome sponsored guests and encourage all to check in to our weekly Net regardless of residency.
The members agree that, as amateur radio operators, we have a responsibility to develop our skills and provide our Sun City fellow residents with a fun and important service Group. Contributing to Public Safety can be achieved through ongoing education.
Several members help out local Radio Clubs in event management. The Tour de Lincoln and Lions Club thanksgiving Turkey donation drive are examples of our investment in our Community through our Hobby.
Following our Monday evening meeting, promptly at 7:00 PM local time, our weekly Net begins.
The LHARG’s Repeater operates at 147.030 MHz, with a PL (CTCSS) of 167.9. The Repeater has excellent coverage of the entire Sun City development and should provide a strong signal, depending on your radio and antenna.

The Mt. Shasta Amateur Radio Club is the little club that could. At a time when ham radio interest was diminished, the club began to get involved in the community by way of public service events. What started with simple health/welfare support of the annual 4th of July race/walk has blossomed into 7 confirmed (and several requests under consideration) annual public service events.
The club is active and vital, sporting a full service HF station at the club house, a 2m FM repeater (with autopatch and emergency power), and a digital (system Fusion) capable 70cm repeater that features Wires-X capability.
No matter who you are, there is something for you in this club. Swing by and visit for a meeting or grab the mic at one of the monthly operating events and enjoy some fun, some contacts, and swap a few lies. |

The Amador County Amateur Radio Club maintins two active repeaters with a wide coverage of the foothills and into the Sacramento valley. It offers classes for new hams and puts on other activities to promote the hobby. It has a strong focus on community activity support, particularly bicycle ride events at which time communication support is provided for events up to 1,500 participants. The club has also responded to local disasters to provide emergency communication with a strong linkage with the Red Cross. A recent linkage has been formed with a local 4-wheel rock crawling club who have found ham radio as an important emergency communciation link. Meetings are held monthly with guest speakers and good fellowship. |

The North Hills Radio Club (NHRC) was organized in 1957 has been in continuous operation for more than 64 years, serving communities in the greater Sacramento area.
The primary purpose of the NHRC is to foster, encourage and promote interest in amateur radio, and to further promote the general public interest in radio communication. The NHRC encourages the exchange of ideas and technical information, the processes and techniques of radio communication. The NHRC sponsors weekly nets, monthly membership meetings, and several yearly events intended to promote education and communication among amateur radio operators as well as public awareness of our activities and of our usefulness during emergencies. Our nets, meetings and events are open to all amateur radio operators as well as to the general public.
The NHRC hosts 5 nets, in 4 nights, on its K6IS Repeater System. These include Mondays at 7:00 PM and 8:00 PM. Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8:00 PM, and Saturday at 7:45 PM when we have a quick 2-meter pre-net on the repeater to promote the Saturday evening 75-meter net on HF at 8:00 PM, on 3918.5 kilohertz, lower side band. Nets are open to any licensed amateur radio operator and you do not need to be a member to participate. For specific dates and/or more information on the net schedule, topics or club events, please go to our website at www.k6is.org. |
