Since the NWS/ARRL has CANCELLED 2025 SKYWARN Recognition Day this year we had to find a alternative spot for the day. We chose Beals Point at Folsom Lake for the event since we can’t be at the NWS office as usual because the National Weather Service office, Sacramento is not participating.
There is a $12 fee to enter the park or its free if you have a park pass.
As Amateur Radio Operators we still can participate. There just won’t be NWS offices on the bands as usual.
We’ll be in the Day Use parking area on the North side and hopefully near the bathrooms. There are plenty of picnic tables and a over hang just in case of inclement weather. Plenty of parking also.
We’ll be there Saturday, December 6th, 2025, from 0900 (you can get there early as you want) till 1600 local time. We’ll have multiple radio’s and Antennas cause we’ll also be doing a POTA activation (Parks On The Air entity US-3432) as a secondary or parallel event. So there will be something for everyone.
If you plan on attending bring some extra food for a pot luck!
We will have Solar Power and a Generator for power. If you have a Go Box bring it along and test it out. Just have some fun.
